Carrefour Uganda’s Fourth Anniversary Extravaganza: Millions in Rewards Await Customers

Carrefour, the exclusive retail giant operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Uganda, is gearing up for a grand celebration as it marks its four-year anniversary in the country. Commencing from January 31 to February 13, 2024, customers are in for a treat with a plethora of exciting prizes and daily discounts.

As a token of appreciation for the unwavering loyalty of its MyCLUB members, Carrefour is set to shower shoppers with a staggering UGX 56 million in cash prizes. Each day, for 14 consecutive days, four fortunate MyCLUB members stand the chance to win UGX one million, contributing to a total giveaway of UGX 56 million.

In addition to the cash rewards, customers can enjoy special discounts of up to 50 per cent across various categories, including groceries, fresh food, electronics, appliances, and homeware. Engaging competitions with instant prizes will add an extra layer of excitement to the celebration.

A unique feature of this anniversary celebration is the #C4anniversary social media challenge. Shoppers are invited to visit any Carrefour store in Uganda, capture a 30-second video extending birthday wishes to the retailer, and share it on their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts using the hashtag #C4anniversary while tagging Carrefour Uganda. The video with the highest engagement and views will earn the participant a cash prize of UGX one million.

Christophe Orcet, the Regional Director for East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Carrefour in Uganda has positioned itself as a provider of unbeatable value and choice for its customers, and we are proud to be building on this through our anniversary campaign.”

Carrefour, a pioneer in loyalty programs, boasts MyCLUB, allowing customers to enjoy instant discounts and accumulate loyalty points. The retailer has been a key player in supporting the local economy by sourcing 99 per cent of its products from over 500 local suppliers, fostering human capital development and creating hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.

Furthermore, Carrefour’s commitment to corporate social responsibility is evident through its “Round Up Your Bill” initiative. Launched in 2021, this program has collected over UGX 290 million to support various projects benefiting vulnerable groups in neighboring communities.
